Twenty minutes by boat, and nobody else there.
A stretch of private beach houses reachable only by boat from Five Cowries or Tarzan Jetty. Groups charter a boat, rent a house for the day, and have a kilometre of Atlantic to themselves. The best day out in Lagos, full stop.

The most established resort near Lagos — chalets, horse riding, boat rides and a genuinely beautiful stretch of coast, about two hours east. Best as an overnight rather than a day trip.
Lagoon-side calm, ninety minutes from the Island.
Chalets on the Lekki lagoon with a pool, spa and quiet water. Popular for team offsites and long weekends. Go midweek and it is nearly empty.
Island resort reached by the resort's own boat.
Private island setting with a beach, pool and chalets, served by a scheduled boat from Victoria Island. The transfer is part of the appeal.
Half zoo, half water park, entirely a day out.

Boat-access beach resort with day passes and overnight cabanas. Weekend day passes sell out — book ahead. Sunday afternoons attract a young, sociable crowd.
Road-accessible Atlantic beach with actual facilities.
No boat required, which makes it the easiest Atlantic beach day from Lekki. Loungers, food, and a wide, clean stretch of sand. The surf is strong — swim with care.
The western escape most Lagosians forget.
An hour and a half west toward the Benin border, on a lagoon. Chalets, boats, and a quieter, older atmosphere. Pair it with the Badagry heritage sites for a full weekend.
A resort you can reach in fifteen minutes.
Not the prettiest on the list, but it is inside the city — jet skis, quad bikes and a lakeside bar without leaving Lekki. Good for a spontaneous Saturday.
The sheltered beach the surfers claimed.

Ilashe and the private island beaches are boat-only from Five Cowries Terminal (Falomo) or Tarzan Jetty. A shared boat is ₦5,000–₦10,000 per head; a private charter ₦120,000–₦250,000 for the day. Always check for life jackets and avoid overloaded boats.
Most resorts sell day access for ₦5,000–₦25,000 per adult, often redeemable against food. Overnight chalets run ₦80,000–₦400,000 depending on the place and the weekend.
November to March is dry season and the water is calmest. Avoid the Atlantic-facing beaches in July and August — the surf is genuinely dangerous.
