Contemporary menu, one of the city's best cocktail programmes, and a bar counter that functions as an actual social space. Weeknights are relaxed; Fridays are a scene.
Lagos's most famous street food, and its most democratic queue.
A suya institution where the queue contains bankers, drivers, expats and students in the same line. Standing there waiting for your beef is one of the few places in VI where strangers talk. Cash, small notes, after 7pm.
Pan-Asian in a room built for arriving in a group.
Sushi, Thai, teppanyaki, and a bar that runs late. Loud, glossy, popular for birthdays. Ask for the bar if you are two or fewer.
The business lunch that is actually good.
Efficient, reliable and quietly excellent — the VI lunch standard. Books out between 1pm and 3pm on weekdays. Solo diners are entirely normal here.

Nigerian-sourced coffee, shared tables, dependable wifi. The unofficial VI office. Come alone at 10am on a Tuesday and you will overhear three pitches and probably join one.

Fish tacos, grilled prawns, cold beer, no ceremony. Outdoor seating, mixed crowd, easy to walk into on a whim — rare for VI.

A dependable menu that never disappoints anyone.
Broad international menu executed properly. The safe choice when you are hosting people with different tastes, and busy enough that a solo bar seat is comfortable.
Platters designed to be eaten with your hands, together.
Chain seafood, but the sharing platters make it inherently communal. Good for a group where nobody wants to make decisions.
Business lunch runs 1pm–3pm and books out. Dinner service is 7pm–10.30pm. Sunday is quiet — several VI kitchens close or run reduced hours.
Fine dining for two: ₦100,000+. Mid-market: ₦40,000–₦70,000. Glover Court suya: ₦5,000–₦12,000. Service charge is usually added; a further tip is normal but not obligatory.
VI parking is scarce and often paid. Ride-hailing is easier than driving. Adeola Odeku and Akin Adesola clog badly at 5pm.
